WELCOME To TRUE2YOU Speech!
Who is Chelsea?
- I am an ambitious Undergraduate Speech-Language Pathology Student who loves people and linguistics. As an Undergraduate Student I have learned how HUGE the SLP world truly is! I have grown a great interest in areas such as: dialectical differences, early intervention, product development, and advocating for change. However, with soooo many areas of Speech-Language Pathology the possibilities are Endless! The goal of this website to become a host for experiences, resources, activities/products and most importantly inspiration. I want to encourage future SLP students to continue to strive for their goals BUT while doing so staying TRUE to themselves and creating their own UNIQUE EXPERIENCES in SLP.
- Please note that I am still currently an Undergraduate STUDENT and not an expert. The resources and activities are IDEAS and have not yet been tested for effectiveness or efficiency. They are to be used or adapted at the students/SLPA/SLP's discretion.
The Logo:
The logo is a profile of me (Chelsea). This profile displays UNIQUE and district features of myself. The profile view symbolizes that we often only see half of a person, client, or situation. SLP's work with so many different people and while a case history report is necessary, it still may not paint a complete picture of our client, causing our perceptions to be skewed. Each person we work with will be UNIQUE and they should be treated as such. Did you spot the dragonfly? The dragon fly is in remembrance of Aliyah Howard, who passed away from Oral Caner shortly after receiving her Masters Degree in SLP. Learn more about her story by "clicking" #teamaliyah below.
